We are living in a time when it seems that truth doesn’t really matter. Either the whole truth isn’t told, or it’s twisted or changed in some way, just to fit a certain issue or circumstance. Then, you’re only guilty when you’re caught, but it’s usually someone else’s fault.
We are even told that the Bible isn’t true or relevant for our time, that you can’t take the Bible literally and you can believe what you want to.
I just read an article and saw pictures from around the world that read “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.” Wow!
So what is truth? Truth is all that is real and will not change. All truth comes from God. Truth is an attribute of God as found in Exodus 34:6; Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 25:10 and Isaiah 65:16. God sees and knows all things as they really are. He never lies. His word is totally trustworthy. We never have to doubt any promises God makes.
God’s word is Truth – Psalm 119:142 says, “Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth.” Verse 151 says, “You are near, O Lord, and all Your commandments are truth.” And I like verse 160 that reads, “The entirety of Your word is truth and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.”
Jesus is the Truth – John 1:17, “For the Law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 14:6 says, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
Trust in God’s Truth – Psalm 119:41-48. We need to trust with confidence and faith and special reliance on God. Our ability to trust God is directly proportional to our knowledge of God. The better we know Him, the more we can trust Him.
Know the Truth – John 8:32, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Jesus sets us free from the guilt and shame of sin; He frees us to live godly lives.
Walk in TRUTH – 3 John 3-4. We need to walk in Christ’s commandments.
Let us be faithful and totally give our hearts and lives, our service, our will, our everything to God our Savior. We have the truth, God’s truth. Let us follow only the Lord and what is written in the Bible, then we will know the truth. Psalm 26:3 says, “For your love is ever before me, and I walk continually in Your truth.”
