Let us look at the examples Christ has set for us in the following verses:
- Mark 10:13-16
- Luke 13:10-13
- Mark 7:31-35
- John 8:2-11
- Mark 1:40-42
Is there a place in God’s plan for them?
- Mark 10:13-16– We see his concern for children. He did not turn them away as His disciples would
- & 3. Luke 13:10-13 and Mark 7:31-35– We see Christ’s concern for people we would label as handicapped. He did not ignore them because of their handicap or because they were not lovely to look at, but He healed them.
- John 8:2-11-We see Jesus helping the woman caught in adultery. He did not turn His back on her but He helped her. He did not condone her sin nor did He condone her accusers.
- Mark 1:40-42– Jesus heals the leper. I am sure if anyone would be
classified unlovely a leper would. They were not allowed to mingle in public. Jesus did not avoid this man but He helped him. What is our reaction to the unlovely, the alcoholic, etc.?
Let us not put on airs. Let us talk with them, spend time with them, invite their help in our lives, and include them in some of our plans. There is a place in God’s plan for them. The true meaning of love is best learned when it is most difficult to love.
