BLESSED PEACE
We shall be called the sons of God.
UNEXPLAINABLE PEACE
Read the words to the song IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL. To learn more about unexplainable peace read the story behind this hymn written by H. G. Spafford.
PATIENCE INTRODUCTION
Patience defined: Patience is that calm and unruffled temper with which the good man bears the evils of life, whether they proceed from persons or things. It also manifests itself in a sweet submission to the providential appointments of God and fortitude in the presence of the duties and conflicts of life.
God’s patience: Patience with persons is an attribute of God. He respects the wills with which He created them, even when those wills are fighting against Him. However, there can be no resistance to God or burden upon Him from things; therefore, patience of things is never ascribed to Him.

ATTRIBUTE OF PATIENCE
These verses repeatedly tell of God’s patience. David in the verses from Psalms thankfully acknowledges these gracious attributes of God. These attributes are not only worthy of praise but are especially suited to man’s frailties.
- Exodus 34:6 The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
- Numbers 14:18 ‘The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’
- Psalms 86:15 But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
- Psalms103:8-9 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.
- Joel 2:13 and rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.
