There was power in Jesus’ servanthood because He chose to become weak and vulnerable. If our submissiveness stems from the fact that we are frightened or unsure of ourselves, there is nothing dynamic or redemptive in it. However, if we have the ability, the strength and the power to fight back and don’t, then this speaks to the lives of others. Submission is not a virtue if we are to weak to fight. Meekness motivated by fear is cowardice We are called to be truly meek; from our position of power in Christ we bow as servant to others.

PERSEVERE IN GENTLENESS

1 Peter 2:18– according to this verse our attitude to the perverse or overbearing should be submissive and respectful.

CHARACTER OF GENTLENESS

1 Timothy 6:11 -The characteristics or virtues listed here are righteousness or uprightness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness. Did you notice that meekness is the climax of them all? We must cultivate the habit of moment-by-moment dependence on the Holy Spirit to enable us to develop these virtues.
