Devotions by Angie Lombardo

“Exuberant Joy”, Bible study writer Angie Lombardo shared a devotional based on chapter 4 in Philippians. She reminded ladies that there is a difference between happiness and joy, and we can have Exuberant Joy despite our circumstances. We need to be on guard because the enemy wants to steal our joy, so we need to do as exhorted in Phil. 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Her devotional can be read on our devotional page.)

Workshop 1 by Pastor Jerry Moan

Philippians - ‘Rejoicing happens as we focus on Jesus’. Pastor Moan also gave a historical background on the book of Philippians during the reign of King Philip and the Roman culture. He shared the following points:
1) Focus of the Christian life is Christ Himself, found in Phil. 1:21;  
2) Secret of Christian Living is the Mind of Christ, Phil. 2:5;
3) Aim of Christian living is Christ likeness, Phil. 3:10;
4) Power for Christian living is Christ’s strength, Phil. 4:13.

Workshop 2 by Missionary Emily Raan

Emily  shared thoughts from Psalm 5. She reviewed times she has taken refuge in the Lord on the mission field and as her family faces uncertainty now for the future with their inability to return to Uganda. She had ladies ponder times of God’s goodness and how the Lord may teach us through difficult situations or circumstances.

Workshop 3 by Shiney Dasari Ramnarain

Shiney is the daughter of Pastor Luther Dasari of India. Pastor Eugene Enderlein introduced Shiney and shared about the relationship the Dasari’s have had with the AFLC World Missions. Shiney shared about the ongoing work of the AFLC of India with some pictures and explained the programs AFLCI is involved in.

Memorial Service led by Mia Presteng

Mia led the memorial service sharing on eternity, and a song “Amen” her brother Jeremy had written about heaven shortly before his passing. Mia shared scripture and read the names of AFLC women who have passed on to glory this last year.

Musical presentation by Angela Hanson

Two special musical selections were presented by Angela Hanson on the violin from Reflections on the Psalms, music from the Deus Ex Musica Psalms Project for solo violin. Angela featured Psalm 23 Beside the Still Waters by Joellen Wallach and Psalm 133 by Delvyn Case. The theme of the piece was “Joy in unity in the body of Christ”.  True unity she shared can only come from God, Ephesians 4:1-6.
